New South Wales
We head south along the western edge of the Blue Mountains, through Oberon, cross the Abercrombie river and head into Goulburn the Marino wool capital of Australia
Just 60km west from the centre of Sydney we discover an area of outstanding beauty.
We arrive at the entrance to the Snowy Mountains. Arriving on a moody evening in Jindabyne where we check out the town, Jindabyne Lake and the Snowy River, all around the Snowy Mountains rise above us. On the following morning when the storm had cleared we headed back out with the cameras. What we couldn't capture was the heady perfume of ecalyptus oil that was filling the air following the heavy rainfall. A truly magical experience.
Loaded up with snow chains ("Just in case"), and with cameras poised we take the Alpine Way through the spectacular scenery of the Snowy Mountains and Kosciusko National Park. We just made it through before the weather got worse, resulting in the closure of the Geehi Reservoir Road whos turn off we passed on the Alpine Way.
We continue our tour through the Snowy Mountains following the Alpine Way
